Burn her! Bu-- *FWOOMP* --Ribbit! Ribbit!

Witch burnings are usually associated with the Middle-Ages, but they were much more proeminent in modern times (16th century to early 19th century, depending on countries). However, they were still extremely rare, a much more common punishment for women (and sometimes men) accused of witchcraft being bannishment and excommunication.

This creation is not meant to be a historically accurate depiction of such events. But although some recurring witch motifs that are featured here are purely contemporary creations (like pointy hats), others are based on genuine beliefs of the modern period, such as broomsticks: a woman riding one was seen as a highly provocative, undignified and sexually connoted gesture.
