Monsanto presents the House of the Future! Nestled in the quiet community of Arcadia Acres, the Monsanto House of the Future has been constructed entirely of plastic. The design takes advantage of the use of plastics in building and is equipped with many of the modern amenities that today's Martian colonizers are seeking. Come home to the comfort of plastic. Airlock module- Used for entering and exiting the pressurized structure. On the left is the spacesuit storage. In the center of the room is the egress hatch that opens down to the Martian surface. Behind the hatch is the airlock door into the Hub. On the right is the pressurization controls.
The Hub- The center of the structure that each module opens into. On the lower left is the kitchen storage and above that is the drinking water containment tanks. Next is the doorway to the bedroom module. In the lower center of the room is the multi-use counter with built in cold storage and cooking element, for when a home cooked meal is in order. Above that is the hydroponics station for growing genetically modified vegitation such as herbs, lettuce or even cherry tomatoes. At the right is the doorway to the Recreation module.
Bedroom module- Currently configured as separate bunks for optimal use of space. Each bunk has storage underneath for clothing and personal effects.
Recreation module- Seen here with lights dimmed. In the foreground is the table and seating. On the left is a treadmill in the stowed position. Above that is the flat-screen also stowed out of the way.
