The original stielhandgranate (German for ‘stick hand grenade’) design was introduced during the First World War, and the British called it the potato masher. The M24 was a slightly lighter, thinner, and more effective version that served as the standard hand grenade of the Wehrmacht in WWII.
My goal in this project was to design a display-worthy replica that captures the iconic shaping and brings this historic artifact to life in LEGO bricks. The MOC features a removable end cap and uses a somewhat rare, white elastic LEGO string element for the detonation cord that can actually be pulled.
